All About That Grout…
Q: How do you choose grout colors for tiles?
A: Honestly? Of all the design decisions, I hate picking grout colors the most. I know it’s something so simple but to me can be the most stressful. It can either make or break your aesthetic. But simply put I ask myself: Do we want to highlight the grout lines or minimize them?
If we minimize them, I will try to find a color that will best hide or compliment the main tile color.
If we want to highlight the grout (or want the grout to hide dirt), I pick a darker color that contrasts the tones in the tile.
Whatever is decided (to hide or highlight), I put the grout samples with the tiles in the natural light and then sleep on it before making the final decision. So far clients haven’t disliked a grout choice yet!
