Light vs Dark — Pick a Mood
“Color is my day-long obsession, joy, and torment.” — Claude Monet
Do you feel depressed when it’s dark and gray and cold outside during winter, or is that your vibe? Do you come to life when you see the sun starting to peek out behind the clouds giving off warmth, or is that trigger for skin cancer for you?
Who hasn’t obsessed over what color to paint your walls or type of flooring to choose because the colors of those paints and floors change throughout the day and year because of the light in those rooms changes constantly. Talk about mixed feelings about light and color!
Regardless of your personal take, light (and the lack of it, darkness) affects us and our mood. It also affects our perception of colors. Light colors can feel bright, clean, cool, fresh and airy. Dark colors can feel, rich, pensive, masculine, and warm. The right color can make or break a space.
So which kitchen do you prefer? Light vs Dark? There is no wrong answer.
