Recessed Outlets—Not Just For Wall-Mounted TVs
How did we exist before the internet? It’s true, it’s hard to imagine, but life did exist and was amazing before the internet. But now that we have it, we have no excuse for not know about something.
Like ‘recessed outlets’…
Why ‘recessed outlets’ you ask? Recently a client requested recessed outlets to be used throughout the project. Initially it seemed like an odd request, but upon further research and deep Google diving, we found some enlightening reasons to use recessed outlets in places you may not have considered.
But just to be sure, what exactly are recessed outlets? Recessed outlets are exactly that, outlets are recessed or sunken into the wall.
That means your plugs and connectors are flush to the wall instead of sticking out from it. It looks great, and in certain applications, it can be a space-saver. More specifically, saving you space in tight areas.
Here are five places around any home, apartment or loft where you should install this space-saving electrical hardware:
Wall-mounted flat-screen TV— You can also run all of the important cables seamlessly between your wall and the TV.
Outdoors— Use one with a slim cover and avoid those unsightly bubble outlets you’re used to seeing outside.
Behind furniture— Do you have outlets tucked behind furniture you’d like to keep tight to the wall, like a boxy sofa or shallow bookshelf? Switch them out for recessed hardware.
Bathrooms— These can help you maximize small space, and help keep electrical hardware out of the splash zone.
Kitchens— Recessed outlets along your backsplash allow you to push small countertop appliances flush against the wall. Even some with barn door enclosures to Yay for more counter space! Some related outlets, are pop-up outlets for the kitchen too!
